- Department is providing outpatient services daily (5 days in the Institute) along with one-day community outreach clinic.

- Yoga therapy Room is available in the OPD area to provide Yoga therapy to patients.
- Allied specialty services are being utilized for referral. including Ophthalmology, ENT, Urology, Psychiatry, Orthopedics, Dental and PMR.
Inpatient services at present:
- A 20 bedded inpatient service with medical ward having 14 beds, 4 Acute Care beds, and 2 long-term care beds. In addition, separate beds have been earmarked for elderly in different specialties like urology, neurology, ENT, Ophthalmology, cardiology, PMR departments.
- We have Yoga and physiotherapy room for inpatient therapy.
Other Facilities available:
- General parameters: Anthropometric measurements (height, weight, BMI, Hip, Waist Circumference) Vital sign: Pulse, Blood pressure, Temperature and other vitals monitoring. Blood glucose charting.
- Counselling about treatment plan, investigations, Health education
- Dietary Services: The department provides dietary opinion in the OPD area by trained dieticians. Both inpatients and outpatients are provided dietary advice. This service is really helpful for patients with diabetes, hypertension, IBS,malabsorption syndromes, renal disease, liver disease and other conditions requiring specific diets.
- Telemedicine Services: The department provides telemedicine services on working days. This helps patients living in remote areas and those who can’t access healthcare because of the ongoing COVID pandemic. Specialty clinics also provide their services via telemedicine. Services are available both on call and via WhatsApp messages. Patient complaints are evaluated and they are advised regarding further management. This has helped reduce need for physical OPD visits.

Courses run by the department:
- Post Graduate Course:
- Department is already running a post graduate course in geriatric medicine with annual intake of 2 candidates/ year.
- Proposal is to start the Diploma course in Geriatric Medicine for in service doctors of State of Uttrakhand.
- Post-Doctoral courses:
- PDCC Geriatric Medicine-The department has started post-doctoral certificate course in Geriatric Medicine in January 2019. Two residents have successfully completed the course.
- PDCC Lifestyle Diseases. -The department has started PDCC course in Lifestyle diseases and is running a lifestyle clinic in the department. One candidate has got the degree and other is presently pursuing the course.
- PhD Course: -There are Three PhD students presently in the department.

Course details:
1. Name of the course: Post-Doctoral Certificate Course (PDCC) in lifestyle disease management 2. Duration: One year 3. Number: Two students per year 4. Eligibility: The course is open for candidates holding MD Medicine/MD Community and Family Medicine/MD Pharmacology Age limit: 35 years (as on 1st January of admission year), Learning objectives: 1. To bring desirable and positive change in knowledge, skills, attitude in the learner, in managing common lifestyle related diseases 2. Inculcate evidence based research among the doctors in lifestyle diseases to provide best available care to patients affected by lifestyle disorders. 3. Take the lifestyle disease care from hospital door to community with an integrative approach. 4. To provide well trained, complete, basic medical doctor with a holistic and scientific approach to the health care system. 5.
