It gives me immense pleasure to acknowledge that AIIMS Rishikesh is truly committed to vision and mission of government of India, for providing “Health for all”. I discern that Institute envisages his dream to provide the best healthcare, to poorest person in remotest hilly terrain, by implementing several government health schemes like Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), Atal Ayushmaan Uttarakhand Yojana & Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) Yojana.
During last three years, institute has shown great progress in all three pillars of a premier institute i.e., medical education, research & training and world class health care. Innovative ideas in medical education in terms of teaching, learning and assessment have been witnessed. New courses and super specialised training programs introduced will benefit both healthcare providers and receivers. I am quite happy to comment that in such a short span of time AIIMS Rishikesh has been able to establish a 960 bedded hospital and run 32 Out Patient Departments (OPD) with 85 specialised clinics.
Advanced medical care services available at institute are going to benefit patients who had to rush to metropolitan cities and wait for months to receive treatment at affordable rates. Central Pharmacy of institute providing free medication to IPD patients, Jan Aushadhi Medical Store dispensing generic medicines are certainly going to benefit all strata of society.
Social outreach camps in remote and hilly area of the region along with providing emergency services in specialised Trauma Surgery and Emergency Medicine Unit, equipped with Air Ambulance and Helipad facility from far-flung areas seem to be quite propitious.
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU’s) with various premier national institutions and international collaboration will facilitate exchange of students for gaining experience in diverse fields. Students of AIIMS Rishikesh have now got into prestigious institutes of country and abroad for post graduation. Research and scientific milieu as evident from various Extramural and Intramural projects running in Institute, Department of AYUSH, Centre of Excellence in Nursing Education & Research and Department of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) are quite encouraging.
Organisation of Sociocultural, literary, arts and sport events and activities with active involvement of students, faculty and support from institution requires constant upgradation of hostel and campus in terms of Sport facilities, gymnasium, libraries with plethora of books would prove rewarding in terms of all round development of students.
I would like to appreciate and congratulate All India Institute of Medical Sciences Rishikesh for having done such a tremendous work in providing people of Uttarakhand and surrounding areas, a state of art health care facility. Institute’s has been successful in conceptualising, contemplating and executing various plans of government till date.
