Stem Cell Research
Institute is in the process of starting Stem Cell research, and creating a centre of excellence in stem cell research with a vision – to make AIIMS Rishikesh a centre of excellence for basic and advanced stem cell research with state of the art laboratory that is compliant with good manufacturing practice.
Currently institute is putting efforts for creating stem cell laboratory, first of its kind in state of Uttrakhand equipped with highly dynamic and interdisciplinary personnel consisting of clinicians, surgeons and researchers.
This Facility will boost clinical and basic research in Stem Cells. The facility will cater to the needs of cell based therapies for various degenerative disorders, wounds, autism, spinal cord disorders etc.. Basic Stem Cell Research will promote research with Mesenchymal Stem Cells, induced Pluripotent Stem Cells, Corneal Epithelial Stem Cells, Epidermal Stem Cells, Cancer Stem Cells and Stem Cells Tissue Engineering. Various aspects of stem cell biology is also going to be investigated.
Stem Cell Committees:-
