  • Outpatients department:
    • General OPD: For patients presenting to emergency, an E-OPD card is made after triaging. Accordingly they are managed and relevant diagnostics and therapeutic interventions are performed. The disposition of the patients is determined after stabilization and alleviating emergent signs and symptoms. A total of 35089 patients were managed by the Emergency Medicine team in the last 1 year
    • Fast Track OPD services : This facility is offered to the patients triaged Green (vitals stable who don’t need immediate attention), for those who wish to reduce their waiting time in the ED. These patients will be fast-tracked to Consultant incharge of OPD and can avail diagnostic, therapeutic procedures and investigations if needed

  • Trauma and emergency anaesthesia services: Three faculty members from emergency department who are anesthesiologists take care of Emergency and Trauma Operation theatres in the regular workings hours.Surgeries for patients belonging to various specialities like General surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics gynaecology and super specialties like Trauma surgery, Paediatric surgery, Neurosurgery, Plastic surgery, Urosurgery, Thoracic surgery and Oral maxillofacial surgery are conducted in these theaters. Approximately 2000 emergency and trauma surgeries were performed under General Anaesthesia and regional Anaesthesia during routine working hours in year 2019

  • To upgrade the professional efficiency of the doctors of the Emergency Department so that each one of them is able to deal with all types of emergency cases for their immediate management. This will improve the outcome and increase the level of patient satisfaction.

  • The doctor will engage in project focusing on on emergency surgery and trauma. The potential projects include – fasting times for emergency surgery; Post-Operative Analgesia; Blood Transfusion management and more in the OR, quality improvement indicators
  • To help the doctors develop interpersonal communication, leadership skills and soft skills towards the patients and their family members
