We aspire to benefit humankind by providing state of the art healthcare services following contemporary scientific principles, facilitating transfer of knowledge and skills to students and exploring new avenues to improve health by investing in research.

MISSION:

Our mission is to work towards preventive aspects, to provide the best available healthcare services following principles of evidence based medicine, to reduce burden arising out of sleep disorders and to improve quality of life and functioning of patients approaching us. We are working towards equipping our students with most recent knowledge and helping them to develop critical and analytical skills so that they can prove themselves beneficial to the humankind and take leadership role in future. We are also investing heavily in research in contemporary areas of the subject and developing collaboration with other departments and agencies to explore and expand our understanding related to various facets of sleep disorders.

Services:

OPD: Patients with Sleep-disorders can get the help in various out-patients departments running in the institute. When patients need specialist attention, they are referred to above faculty members in their OPD or to Sleep Clinic.

Indoor Facility:

Patients with sleep disorders are admitted for various procedures that include:

  • Actigraphy
  • Overnight diagnostic polysomnography (sleep study)
  • Polysomnography with manual titration of PAP
  • Assessment of daytime sleepiness: Using MSLT and MWT
  • Long term video EEG

Sleep Study : Polysomnography is the study of various physiological parameters during sleep that include but not limited to brain activity, muscle tone, respiration, body position, heart rhythm and movements. This information vital to diagnosie and treat a variety of sleep disorders.Central facility with two beds is available in the institute to diagnose and treat patients with sleep disorders. This is joint venture of Departments of Pulmonology, Psychiatry, Neurology, ENT, Pediatrics and Dental Surgery. We have facilities for state of art video-synchronized Level 1 polysomnography that help us to diagnose and treat a range of sleep disorders:

    • Chronic Insomnia
    • Hypersomnia
    • Sleep Related Breathing Disorders
    • Sleep Related Movement Disorders
    • Sleep Related Epilepsy
    • Circadian Rhythm Sleep Disorders
