Vision

To set up a state of art department of clinical Microbiology which will focus on creating a clinical Microbiologist who will move from bench side to beside management of infectious diseases.

Mission

AIIMS Rishikesh has been set up primarily to cater to the needs of the local people of the hilly state of Uttarakhand and other surrounding states. Creating a centre of excellence for training and research in medical microbiologywill help to provide clinical consultation on investigation, diagnosis & treatment of patients suffering from infectious diseases and for implementing infection control programmes.

Expansion plan

Clinical Services:

  • Full-fledged IFA- autoimmune disease lab service – including All monoplex ELISA for ANA, ANCA, Automation (Phadiaetc). Also planning to cover, autoimmune liver, kidney profile etc
  • Viral load testing for HBV, HCV & HIV
  • Qualitative molecular testing of other infectious markers
  • Cryptococcal antigen detection from CSF, galactomannan detection from serum and BAL samples.
  • To establish fully equipped BSL 3 lab and Biomedical Waste pretreatment facility at AIIMS Rishikesh
