Stepping Stones:

The Department started its modest beginning on 3rd of June 2014 by giving general anaesthesia for neurosurgery operation on the spine. Since then, under the Headship of Prof Mukesh Tripathi, with limitations of an initial setup, manpower and resources, the Department has progressed at a fast pace. We have started Pre Anaesthetic Checkup (PAC) Clinic and a Pain Relief Clinic in the OPD. Currently two operation theatres are functional with postoperative care units and one ventilated bed ICU.

Area of Interest:

Acute pain management to attain pain free hospital.

Chronic Pain Relief Clinic along with Cancer pain and palliative care as OPD and day care

Future Goals:

Setting up of three bedded critical care unit.

Ultrasonography in practice of anaesthesia

The Department also plans to expand its services in near future as the surgical departments grow.

Together with the need of institute starting postgraduate courses (MD Anaesthesia and critical care).
